Give Thanks

Give thanks with a grateful heart,
Give thanks unto the Holy One,
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His son.

And now let the weak say, 'I am strong',
Let the poor say, 'I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us'

Give thanks

The Final Page

Finally, I finished writing the series of 'Few Final Pages'. This series reminded me about the faithfulness and awesomeness of God in my three fantastic years in Kuala Lumpur! Praise the Lord!

I started this chapter as a late teenager and now it ended where I am a young working adult! My heart is full of gratitude to God for His awesome guidance, blessing and His wonderful love for me throughout my three years journey in Kuala Lumpur. I can see and aware of his wonderful blessing over me especially in my studies, my friendship and relationship with people around me and my walk with Him.

Images of me -captured in these three awesome years!-
[Short hair, long hair, thin and fat =P]

I pray that everything that I learned and gained in these three years, I will use it mightily to serve Him and His people here at Ipoh where I just started my new chapter of life as a young working adult. Like what Pr. Nancy said, I am the missionary that sent out by DUMC children's church to serve in Ipoh. AMEN!

That's all folks...
Another chapter of my life is gone but it was well read and it was a memorable one and it will be deeply missed! Thank you God and everyone who imparted into my life and make it so colourful and memorable! Thank you and God bless! Goodbye!

The End

Choo... choo... The train is here and I am heading to a new chapter now! Cheerio =)

P/s: I'm excited about the new chapter of my life and I can't wait to see where the Lord will lead me to! "Lord, guide me and lead me! I will follow You wherever You bring me to in this new journey of life! I love You, Lord! AMEN!"

Few Final Pages; Part 6 - My Mentors

I am so blessed -really blessed- to have all my mentors and I thank God for them! Each of them play a different roles in my life but with one common purpose; is all about God. They help me to grow in the Lord and walk closer with the Lord. Praise the Lord! =)

Pr. Nancy -DUMC children's chruch pastor-
Pr. Nancy teach me a lot about leadership, children ministry, clowning, balloon sculpting, preaching using gospel illusion, prayer, journaling, courtship and family relationship. She also sent me to Bible College Malaysia (BCM) to equip me.

Jefrey Ong -Cell member-
Jef teach me about leadership, my walk with God -like journaling- and family relationship.

Timmy Lai -My elder brother-
Timmy is my brother, so he teaches me about family quite a lot and also about his walk with God. He also teaches me about working life and dealing with people.

Stanley Woo -Church friend & BCM classmate-

"Dear Lord Daddy, thank You for all my mentors. Thank you for putting them into my life and using them mightily in shaping my character and helping me to walk closer with You. In Jesus' name I prayed, Amen!"

Few Final Pages; Part 5 - God Chasers!

Out so many blessing that I received throughout my three years journey in Kuala Lumpur, having this cell group -God Chasers- was one of the best!

When I was starting my new journey of life in a new environment, it was hard for me especially being away from my family. I really thank God for this cell group! My cell leader, David Cheng and his wife, Kath and the rest of the cell members really helped me to cope well in the new environment, in addition, they also helped me to overcome my home sick.

I grown a lot when I was attending this cell group especially my walk with God and as well my thinking and my character. I was a late teenager when I was attending this cell group and I left the cell group as young -very young, I guess!- adult. As you can see, I was growing up in this cell group. Praise the Lord!

"Dear Lord Daddy, I want to thank you for this awesome cell group where I used to belonged. Thank you for blessing me with this awesome cell group! Lord, I pray that You'll continue to bless this cell group and continue to watch over this cell group. I also want to pray for David and Kath; Lord, bless both of them and grant them the encouragement, inspiration and as well as the Your everlasting strength to lead this cell group. And Lord, bless the members of this cell group too, pray that everyone will grow deeper in their walk with You and experience Your love in a greater way! Thank you Lord. In Jesus' name I prayed, Amen!"

Miss you all very much! God bless and cheerio =)

Few Final Pages; Part 4 - Mission Trips

I am so blessed that I was able to go for two mission trips in year 2007. Praise the Lord!

Children with their masterpiece; Orang Asli in Rompin, Pahang

Aborigines of Malaysia in Rompin, Pahang - This was the place where I went for my first mission trips. I went there with my cell group. It was challenging to me at first -the place where I was staying and doing our activities was dusty- I felt so uncomfortable. Then, God reminded me about my purpose for the mission trips. I changed my mind and stayed focus on Him. I ended up so much fun serving Him throughout the four days there without any distraction. Praise the Lord!

My team members and I together with the Orang Asli Pastor and his family

And my second mission trip was going to Cambodia! WOW, this mission trip was awesome! I was so blessed. God provided my whole trip's expenses! Praise the Lord! In addition, He also blessed me a group of great team members! I wrote a post about my Cambodia Mission Trip; check it out and see the awesomeness of God at www.jackyltroy.blogspot.com/2008/04/my-cambodia-youth-mission-trip.html

Few Final Pages - Faithfulness of the Lord

Now, I am in the few final pages of the current chapter of my life. It is going to finish soon before I start a new one which is this coming 31st of July. Three years just passed me by so fast; like the wind slipping through my fingers which I cannot hold it.

Back in 2006, I came down to Kuala Lumpur to further my study. I was having doubts and fears and I was just like A BLANK MUSIC SHEET -because I don't know anything- But In these three wonderful years, I met a lot of great people who help me to grow and walk closer to the Lord; I met a lot great friends; I learned a lot of first hand lessons and gained a lot of fresh experiences. I will cherished all these things and I thank God for all it because all these things are the BEAUTIFUL MUSIC NOTES that God had fill into my life. And now, the blank music sheet is no longer empty but fills with beautiful music notes and therefore, a beautiful song is written and composed. Praise the Lord!

'Faithfulness of the Lord' is the title for this beautiful song. This song marks my three years journey with the Lord; through all ups and downs, climb all mountains, sail all the raging seas, surf all the waves and walk all the valleys. One thing that I know and I am very sure of is that in all these three years, no matter what I am going through, God is always faithful in keeping His promises and He never fail me at all. Praise the Lord!

Another Goodbye

Yesterday, I had a great time of fellowship with my course mates. We had farewell lunch at Seoul Garden, One Utama. Then, we went for bowling and snooker -pool- We had lots of laughter, foods, cheers and fun!

Wow, I couldn't believe it that three years already past us by so fast! Another chapter of my life is finishing soon. I thank God for all of them for making this chapter of my life so colourful and so much fun -Thanks guys!-

"I am surely going to miss you all very much"

We started not so close to each other at first but today, we are closer like never before. I guess, through all the ups and downs that we went through together, God bought us closer with each other. Praise the Lord!

After yesterday, I felt that I am going to miss them very much especially after this coming 28th of July 2009 which is our last day at college. "Hey guys, I want you all to know that I had so much fun studying and growing up together with you all in these three wonderful years. Thank you very much for everything!" Miss ya and God bless ya! Cheerio =)

Love Keeps No Record of Wrongs

Today, I found out that there is a mother who loves her son very much BUT somehow she do not trust her son because of one mistake that he made. Anyway, how can she loves him while she don't trust him and keep remembering the son's mistake? Is that really a love? I was so sad to hear that and I was really disappointed!

There is a verse in the Bible, saying that "Love keeps no record of wrongs" taken from 1 Corinthians 13:5. This verse came into my mind right after i recalled back the story about the mother. This verse really give me the reassurance and peace after all the disappointment that I had.

I thank God for His awesome and wonderful LOVE. His love for us is perfect! Too perfect until there is no words can really describe His awesomeness LOVE for us. At times when we fail Him or disobey Him, God will forgive us; when we sincerely -with repentance- come to Him to ask for forgiveness. In addition, He will remember our wrongs NO MORE! In other word, He will keeps no record of our wrongs right after He forgives us because of one simple reason; His great LOVE for us.

God's LOVE is simple and no complicated regulations. Let's us learn together on how to love the way like God love us! Amen!

Olympus PEN E-P1

"Not a Compact. Not an SLR... It's a PEN"

Yesterday, I saw an advertisement about this camera -above- and it really caught my attention. My first impression was like, "Wow, this camera look so retro! I like it..."

I like the retro feeling of this camera and the functions too. It is an 'old' design with 'latest' functions... That's so cool! But it is costly to me; if I not mistaken, the price for this camera is rm2999. ='( So expensive...

I found these nice camera wallpaper of older version of Olympus PEN from Olympus website...

Empty Bookshelves

Mr. Smith owned a library in the town where he lives. He collected many books and he kept all of it in his library. Anyway, Mr. Smith is not a librarian, he don't work at his own library. He is a teacher; a music teacher. He is very talented in music especially in guitar.

Everything was going really well and Mr. Smith thought of expanding his library. Sadly, one day, his library was burned down by fire. All his books was gone in the fire and turned into ashes. All the bookshelves was badly burned and no longer can hold any books.

Mr. Smith was really sad; he was feeling unhappy and feeling bitterness. And he was feeling angry too! After this terrible and hurtful event took place, Mr. Smith has lost his purpose in life!

Mr. Smith have a best friend who is a carpenter; his name is Jay. Jay was the one who made all the bookshelves in Mr. Smith's library and Jay wanted to do that again; to rebuilt, to repair and to replenish the bookshelves for Mr. Smith.

Then, Mr. Smith's friends also offered to give some books to him to start the library again! However, Mr. Smith told his friends that the bookshelves in his library is not good enough to put any books. Therefore, he rejected all the offers!

And now, Mr. Smith's library only left with the broken and empty bookshelves which is not suitable and good enough to put any books!

The End

Do you have any questions to ask about the story above? I do... Here's are my questions:
Did Jay rebuilt back all the burned and broken bookshelves in Mr. Smith's library?
Or did Mr. Smith open up and allow Jay to rebuilt back all the the burned and broken bookshelves?
If yes, but why did Mr. Smith reject all the offers from his friends?

Are you asking the same questions too? Anyway, I don't have the answers! You can make a wild guess but that will not determine the right answers. Only Mr. Smith and Jay can tell us the answers!

The Climb

Yesterday, I received an encouraging message from my friend, Emmanuel...

"Trusting God won't make the mountain smaller but it will make climbing easier. Hope you will be able to climb all your mountains always"

Then, this message also reminded about the song that sang by Miley Cyrus; 'The Climb'... Here's the chorus goes...

There's always gonna be another mountain,
I'm always gonna wanna make it move,
Always gonna be a uphill battle,
Sometimes, I'm gonna have to lose.

Ain't about how fast I get there,
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side,
It's the climb.

Life is full of challenges, full of difficulties and full of problems. These are the mountains that we are climbing all the time. Sometimes, one after another...

As a Christian, there is no exceptional for me; I still need to climb these mountains! Some of the climbing are difficult and some are heartbroken which require tears and sweats. But what Emmanuel said is so true; if I trust God and allow God to climb together with me, every of the climbing will be easier! AMEN!

With His wonderful and awesome LOVE; it really helps me a lot in every of my climbing and make every of my climb worth because eventually when I reach to the top of every mountain that I climb, I will learn some valuable lessons and I will also learn to become stronger and wiser. God use every of the climb to shape my character; I learn to be more humble, learn to have self-control, learn to be patience, learn to trust and have faith in Him. Praise the Lord!

Are you climbing any mountain now? Let's invite the Lord to climb together with you!

"Be strong and courageous. Don't be terrified; don't be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go - Joshua 1:9"

A Good Pair of Comfortable Walking Shoes

On March 2009, I bought a pair of Crocs shoes. I wanted to buy one for very long time but because of the price, I failed to get one until this year March. My mum and I were looking for comfortable walking shoes for our Singapore trip. So, my mum bought a pair of Nike shoes. On that day, I was still thinking whether to get Crocs shoes or not... Finally I made my decision to get a pair of Crocs shoe. Guess what, I never disappointed by it and no regret at all for buying it.

Alright, I am not promoting for Crocs but seriously, Crocs shoes are really comfortable. Recently, I am walking quite a lot -walk to bus stop then to my college and then back to my aunt's condo- and I never feel any pain at my feet.

Do you know, I can also decorate my Crocs shoe with the cute button known as Jibbitz!

My favourite walking shoe =)

Say Goodbye

"Sometimes goodbye, THOUGH it hurts in your heart, is the only way for destiny Sometimes goodbye, THOUGH it hurts, is the only way now for you and me Though it's the hardest thing to say I'll miss your love in every day So say goodbye But don't you cry Because a true love never die..."
Say Goodbye by S Club

Last month and early this month, I had to say goodbye to many people...

Early last month, I had to say goodbye forever to my uncle; Uncle Steven who died of stomach cancer. Then, a week or two, I had to say goodbye forever to my another uncle; Uncle John who passed away due to multiple organs failure... I was so sad. Saying goodbye to both of my late uncles was really hard for me especially you know that you can never see them again!

Then, two of my friends are leaving to Australia and one of my friend will be going to Poland...

Wai Kheun (right) already left Malaysia to Australia to further his studies.

Fong Chu will be leaving to Australia soon to further her studies and last Tuesday, my friends and I organized a farewell dinner for her together with Yoong Wei.

Yoong Wei will be leaving to Poland soon for industrial training.

Saying goodbye is always hard especially to someone whom you loved dearly and someone who very close to you no matter how far or near they go... Or how long or short they will be away...

Let's cherish every sweet moments with your loved ones like your family and friends! God bless ya!

Andrew's Burger

Last Monday, my friends and I went to our friend's -Andrew- burger stall at Silibin, Ipoh to try his burger.

This is Andrew's burger stall -Andrew's Burger-

So, that night, Ummi and I had Chicken Burger Special...

Can you see the sauces flowing down?! Yummy!

While William tried the egg burger known as Benjo...

And then, Vaane had a normal chicken burger...

Andrew's burger taste so good is not because of some secret recipe or any special ingredient; he just uses some ordinary ingredient like everyone else. In my opinion, his burger taste so good simply because he cooks with his heart...

"Well done, Andrew! I prayed that God will use you, your skill and your wonderful burger stall mightily to touch that community at Silibin! I can see that your burger stall is a blessing to many people! Keep it up the good work that you're doing! God bless ya! =)"

Uncle Steven: Deeply Remembered and Missed

Last Wednesday, I received a text message from my cousin sister saying that her dad passed away and I also received a call from my mum telling me that my uncle passed away!

My uncle died of gastric cancer -stage four- He did an operation to remove his whole stomach that was infected by cancerous cells. He also did a few session of radiotherapy. But in the end, he lost in the war and sadly the cancerous cells had won and took over his life.

My uncle is a wonderful husband, father, brother-in-law, son-in-law, a great brother and a fantastic uncle. When I was in KL, he used to call me and talk to me. He always brought me out to eat every time when I come back to Taiping. I still remember that one day I was looking for fried chicken and he just drove me all the way to Pokok Assam to get me the famous fried chicken there.

I always remembered him in my prayer and it is my desire to see him come to know Jesus Christ. But sadly, I was late and couldn't share with him about the good news...

His funeral was on Friday and it was also my very last time to see him. Sending him off was hard and difficult.

Today, he is deeply remembered and missed by everyone of us! "Uncle Steven, I miss you very much and thank you for everything that you had done to me and imparted into my life! I will always remember you!"

I am Broke but I am Not Poor!

On Friday early morning, as usual that I was awake since last night, then my spectacles was oily, so I wiped it with t-shirt. This time, I wiped it hard until I spoiled my spectacles... Cut the story short, I went for repairing and eye scanning. They repair my old one -which I wearing now- then, I need to make a new one because the degree of my eyes increase -getting worse; but not very much- it cost me RM350 for a new pair of spectacle. I'm going to be BROKE once I settle the bill -so far, I just paid RM5o as the deposit- ='(

I think I made a mistake for making a new pair of spectacle because I still can see with my old one plus my old one still can wear after repaired. Sigh... I was so sad and upset the whole yesterday! My heart was aching -as usual especially you think you make a mistake plus spending so much money for the mistake- Sigh...

But then, today, God reminded me about Him as a Father who provides and in control of everything. I was so blessed! Last time, God used the dark sky and sunshine to remind me about Him and today, I sensed that again He showed me the same phenomena! Praise the Lord!

Then, I thought, if I am happy that I didn't spend the RM350 and feeling secure of having the RM350, then, this is not good because I putting my trust and hope on the money -something that cannot last and secure me for life-

Then, I thought about God's promises! Am I not more precious than the sparrows? Of course I am more precious than the sparrows; I am heavenly Daddy's little prince. Why I feel sad that I spent on something that is good for my sight and why I worried becoming broke when I have my heavenly Daddy who is looking after me, taking really good care of me and love me unconditionally!

I know, money is something and without it can be very hard but money is not everything; in addition God is my Jehovah Jireh -the Lord provides- AMEN! I am broke, but I am not poor and I am happy! Praise the Lord! =) I love you, Jesus!

The Beautiful Awakening!

I had a beautiful awakening on last weekend during Mission Candidates Preparation Programme - Part 2 (MCPP-2) at Peacehaven, Genting Highlands!

I guess I had been sleeping for past a year... Wandering off from the right track, go to the left and go to right; searching here and there... Feeling so lost!

I praise God for Pr. Ling who encouraged me to go for my second round of MCPP-2. I was really reluctant to go at first! Out of obedience, I went and I praise God that I made choice to go for MCPP-2. I really praise God and thank God for the blessed weekend! I was inspired, I was encouraged and I found my way back to God again!

"God shine through the darkness! Once again I found the light as my guide! Praise the Lord!"

Pr. Ling -DUMC Mission pastor- prayed for me during the ministry night, God spoke to me through him. God told not to wander off, looking left and looking right. God asked me to focus on Him. God also said, I only have one life and live it for Him! That night was the night I found my purpose again and that night also the night that God picked me up from the darkness!

Wow, I was inspired and encouraged by Aunt Esther's -DUMC missionary in Cambodia- testimony. Someone wanted to kill her, she was lonely and she nearly wanted to give up as a missionary but God reassured her and she obeyed! She even sacrificed her comfortable life to be missionary at Cambodia... I was inspired. =')

Then, I was also inspired and encouraged by this movie -End of the Spear- that Pr. Ling played during MCPP-2. Through this true story movie, I was touched and I finally can see again from my blindness! "I was blind, but now I see!"

Today, I am encouraged! I want to be Somebody for Someone; so that people will see how great, how real and how wonderful God is and people will give all honors, all glories and all praises to God! =)

Ipoh is well known for its foods, so I took all of them around Ipoh and chak chak and chak (*chak means eat in hokkien) until they surrender! Haha... Do you know, we are just like the 8TV Ho Chak crews or Media Corps Coffee Talk, Hawker Wok crews... Haha... Because we eat non-stop and we took picture of every foods that we ate -Just like promoting the foods in Ipoh-

Ok, let's get started... First stop! Restaurant Fok Heng; which near my house. We had some little foods here plus the famouse drink here -Red Bean Blender with ice- After that, we took a break at home and we played Mah Jong! "Sik Wu" hahaha...

Then, Second stop! We went to Restaurant Wong Sam; which is also near my place.

We had Lou Sang here with Salmon Fish... Yummy! Then, we had Tau Foo with Ginkgo, Wong Nga Pak vegetable and Wat Tan Hor Mix...

After Lou Sang, we straight away head to Ipoh famous food -Taugeh Ayam (bean sprout & chicken)... Ta! Ta!... Here's the Third Stop! of the day; Ong Kee Restaurant for Taugeh Ayam, Meat Balls and Ipoh Hor Fun.

I guess we only had like 30 minutes of break -more or less- before we headed to our Fourth Stop! which is few shops away from Ong Kee Restaurant; we went to Tuck Kee Restaurant for Chicken Feet and Octopus! Yummy.... =P

After our fourth stop, finally we stopped here and continued eating the next day! =P So, we went back home and played Mah Jong and Clue -board game-

The next morning, we continued with our makan; our Fifth Stop! we went to Ming Court Restaurant for Hong Kong Dim Sum -sorry no picture of dim sum because we were too hungry and just focus on the foods only... Hehe-

After Dim Sum, we went to Ipoh Old Town which is our Sixth Stop! for Caramel Custard, Sotong Kankung and Satay! Yummy! =P

After sightseeing and photography, everyone were tired and thirsty, so went for our Seventh Stop! Funny Mountain -the stall name- for Ipoh famous Tau Foo Fah (Soya Bean Curd), Soya Bean milk and Glass Jelly Drink to clench our thirst.

Slightly grey is Soya Bean Milk mix with Glass Jelly Drink, the white one is Soya Bean Milk and the black one is Glass Jelly Drink.

After drinking, we went for shopping; to get some Ipoh famous biscuits and foods like Ipoh salted chicken. After shopping, we went to a place to get Siew Yuk, unfortunately we were late because it was sold out. The Siew Yuk here is very nice -maybe next time ya- =)

Then, we went home for house blessing. All my friends prayed for my house and my family -Thank you everyone! Appreciate it very much!- After house blessing, we continued with Mah Jong! After that, they all went back to Kuala Lumpur -around evening!-
