An Apple A Day, Keeps The Doctor Away

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control - Galatians 5:22 & 23 (taken from the Bible)

Today at Children Church, the junior children learned about the first fruit of the Spirit - LOVE! And we are using Apple to represent the first fruit of the Spirit; Love! Actually, I don't really know the main reason why we're using the apple to represent love.

But in my own opinion, Apple is a very healthy fruit (Ok, all fruits are healthy! =P). It contains Vitamin A, Vitamin c, Folate, Vitamin E and others minerals. If you take an apple a day, it can keeps you healthy and keeps the doctor away. Hehe... Therefore, when you practice loving attitude everyday in your life, you can stay away from all the bad and unhealthy attitude like hatred, unforgiving heart and easily get angry and grumpy because these bad attitudes can lead to consequences!

As the conclusion, practice your loving heart everyday like sharing your lunch box with your friend or lend your helping hands whenever people need help... Never say that you can't, remember Practice makes Perfect! God bless ya! (^o,^)

My Cambodia Youth Mission Trip

On the 6th of August 2007, I went to Cambodia for my second mission trip for nine days. Team of 10 people; Maureen Ooi (leader of the team), Jonathan Lim (assistant leader), Troy Lim, Mike Chang, Jamie Ang, Sara Leong, Carol Yap, Jamie Lee, Jared Sze and myself, Jacky Lai.

We were assigned to serve the community at Cambodia by doing teaching and preaching at two Christian Youth Camp at Kampot and Baray. This trip was a blessed and a memorable trip to me. I had a lot of testimonies about this trip on how God provided me and blessed me. But there is one testimony that I must share with you all:

Three day before the trip, I received a bad news. My actual final exam date was on the 20th of August but my lecturer brought forward the examination date to 13th of August which I am still at Cambodia. Plus my course mates all agreed with the date. I was so sad. I went to a stairs near my hostel, I broke down and cried. Then, I prayed... At night of that day, I got a skit and dance practice for this mission trip. Then, I shared it with my team members. Suddenly one of my team members shared with me, "God will honor those who honor Him first!" I was so blessed to hear that and I knew that God is answering my prayer. So I skipped the exam and went for this mission trip.
So I needed to re-sit my exam. Then, my lecturer told me that he will never recycled the question. So, those question that had come out, I didn't memorize them, I just read through them. Do you know, on that day of my re-sit, he gave me the same question paper. Then, I was panic. I prayed and asked for God's wisdom. Then, I sensed the peace. I did my best and surrender the rest to the Lord. Guess what, in my class, only three people scored 'A' and I was one of them... Yeah!!! Indeed God will honor those who honor Him first! All praises and glories to the Lord!

During trip, I was truly blessed. I got to know more about my team members. Right now, all of them are my best friends. I learned something from each and everyone of them. I also learned about the heart of servant hood. Here, I learned how to serve with love. I also learned how to depend on God and walk by faith. I was blessed to know and meet my church, DUMC missionaries here at Cambodia. Their testimonies really inspired me! As well as the pastors there. So thankful!

The foods are great and delicious. I really enjoyed eating the Cambodian foods. I love it very much. My favourite is the Ice Cream inside the coconut. I also tried eating spider. Wow, never thought that it can be taste so good.

We went for river cruise, horse-cart and cow-cart. We also did a little shopping at Russian Market and Central Market. Here, I can get a lot of in-expensive stuff like clothes, souvenirs, etc.
I cried when we were at Phnom Penh International Airport. I think I missed the missionaries especially Aunty Esther, she like my mummy and she take good care of me and my team during the trip and I also missed the Cambodian! Inside the plane, I prayed and told the Lord, "Lord, if you call me again to serve You here at Cambodia, I will follow and go!"

This trip was really blessed by the Lord. A truly blessed, fruitful and memorable trip! Thank God and thank everyone who made this mission trip possible for me! All praises and glories to the Lord! Love ya =)

Piggy + Laughter Whole Night Long!

Last Friday, two days after my 22nd Birthday, Rachel and Chu celebrated my belated birthday. We went to One Utama to have dinner and watch movie.

We went to Canton-I and had our dinner there. We ordered one main course for each and Rachel and I ordered additional side dish. Not really a dish but something very light actually it was a dessert.
This Mango dessert is ordered by Rachel; now I know that she likes to eat mango and Chu doesn't like to eat mango.
And I ordered this cute piggy (red bean) "pau". Because it was so cute, so I ordered it! hehe... But Chu doesn't like red bean also...

The interior design inside Canton-I is very nice. The waiter speak proper Cantonese. This is my second time going there, actually. But somehow, I felt like I am at Hong Kong. Hehe... Because of the nice interior design, we were taking a lot of pictures. Hehe... Poser, huh? No lah... Don't think like that, ok? Actually, the photographs are very memorable!

After dinner, we still have time before the movie starts, so went jalan-jalan around One Utama. Suddenly we bumped into this booth; showing us the smallest monkey in the world... They were promoting their Animals Exhibition at the ground floor. The Uncle at the booth was so kind, even though we never bring our student card, he still gave us the student price for the ticket! So blessed!

So, we went to the exhibition. Hmm... Kinda disappointed about the exhibition because not many animals, mostly reptiles like snakes. But I was amazed to see the King Cobra. Wow, extremely huge... Scary! Got one albino monkey very cute... show u the picture:-Cute?! Hehe... Rachel said that this monkey look like those wise monkey with a lot of experience! Hehe...

After that, we went to watch movie; The Spiderwick Chronicles! Nice movie... After the movie, Chu sent me back to my hostel. Rachel & Chu, thank you for the blessed night! It was so much fun and laughter! =)

Look Who Is In The Red Dress

I have a good friend name Shakilah. Her name means pretty. She is as pretty as her name and she is cheerful and friendly too. Both of us like to laugh together with our own jokes. We're like twin because we share the same personality. And she likes Brandon Routh, the one who acted as Superman in Superman Return.

Recently or end of last year or early of this year; I really don't know when and the exact date and time, actually; she bumped into a Chinese guy; a physiotherapy student from my college who look similar to Brandon Routh. This Chinese guy look like a Japanese. And she really liked him and admired him very much. She even tagged him as Japanese Guy. Every time when she saw him, she was excitedly saying, "Japanese guy, Japanese guy!" and one day, she found out his name from her friend. She was so excited too.

Then, last Monday; if I not mistaken about the date, one of my course mate told her that this guy already had a girl friend. She was so down after receiving that news. Whether the news was true or not, it really didn't matters anymore to her because she wanted to forget him.

Today, it was one of our course mate birthday eve and we thought that we want to sabotage the birthday boy. But then, last night, I text messaged her and canceled the sabotage plan and asked her to wear her pretty dress as she had planned earlier. Today, she came with her pretty dress in red colour. Everyone was looking at her because she was different today; not like her usual dress - t-shirt, jeans and sneaker! After our class finished today, we went down to the cafeteria to have our lunch. As we walked towards there, suddenly she, my course mates and I saw that guy from the opposite direction. Guess what, he was also dressing in red! "Look who's in the red dress too?" Then, he just walked pass by her and she also walked pass by him WITHOUT looking at each other. It was really pathetic. During that moment, what was my friend thinking and what was that guy thinking as they passed by each other? No body knows except both of them...

Do you think that this was just a coincidence that both of them dressing in red today? Sound like watching movie or TV drama? Sound like one sided love? Or sound like a similar situation that you faced before?

After that, as we were having our lunch, I talked to her, she look kinda down... (-.-) Then I told her that God knows what's the best for us. And this is true; God really knows what's the best for us and the best is yet to come!

According to the Bible, God didn't want Adam to be alone and lonely, so God created Eve. Like all of us too, God will never want us to be alone and lonely. God will prepare your future girl friend that soon-to-be wife or your future boy friend that soon-to-be husband. So don't hurry; just follow accordingly to God's perfect timing.

Pray and ask God to prepare and shape your future wife and her character so that she can be your best helper in your life as you're the leader in your family and in the ministry that you'll be serving and she'll be submissive to you (for guys).

Pray and ask God to prepare and shape your future husband and his character so that he can be a good leader in the family and love you as his own body (for girls).

Everyone will feel the desperation to have their another half, so do I. But be patient, don't hurry because the best is yet to come! Wait patiently for the Lord to provide you the one that He already prepared for you because He knows what's the best for you! =)

God is Good, All the Time!

Recently, something has happened to my family. I was really unhappy and the problem really eating me up from the inside, therefore my emotional was not stable. I tried to ask God WHAT does He want me to learn instead of asking Him WHY does the problem happened! But I failed... I was over emotional and keep asking God why this problem is taking place and it is so stressful!

God is good all the time... He spoke to me almost everyday...
Saturday:-
At Children Church, God spoke to me during praise and worship through the song, "God will make the way"... I was crying because God said that He'll make the way when there's seems like no way.

Wednesday, morning:-
God spoke to me through my devotion, God said no one hopeless when they put hope in God. Then, during fast and prayer, He spoke to me again during praise and worship, God said never under estimate His power and be magnify of His power.

Thursday, night:-
During my prayer group at my hostel, suddenly, one of my friend from Africa said, "The Lord want us to trade our sorrow, tiredness, etc... Immediately, my tears flooded my eyes. Then, we worship God with the song, 'Trading My Sorrow'... I knew that God want me to trade sorrow with Him and laid down all my stress and burden to Him... I was rejoicing and dancing as I worshiping Him.

Friday, evening:-
As I woke up from my afternoon nap, it was raining. Then I opened my window and looked outside and I saw Rainbow. Then, I knew that God is telling me that He'll keep His promises!

Sunday, morning:-
My emotional was not fully recover... During Sunday celebration, God spoke to me again, through the song, 'I Surrender'... I sensed that God said to me, surrender all problem, stress and unhappiness to Him completely...

You may think that this is coincidence... But people, do not doubt my God, indeed He's the true living God. He's the God who cares so much about having relationship with us and cares about our daily life... This is not coincidence... No one will involve in an accident for 5 times in a week... In this world, nothing is so coincidence... Every meeting is a divine opportunity! My God is good, all the time!

Pictures To Share

Hey, I got four pictures that I want to share... My Baptism Day photos and photos when I was sharing my testimony on stage during last year Watchnight Celebration at my church, DUMC!

hehe... so much fun and blessed! Praise The Lord! =)

Blessed Dinner at Jogoya!

Last night, my aunt brought her whole family, my cousin brother and I to Jogoya to have dinner there. Wow, it was so nice and blessed! Jogoya is the Japanese buffet located at Starhill. The meaning of Jogoya is (I found this information behind the tissue paper packet):-
Jo - a supreme place
Go - the palace live by the king
Ya - a shop

As I walked in into the shop, I saw a lot of foods, then I said to my cousin sister, "We're going to eat until we cry!" HAHAHA...

First round, I ate sushi... then followed by other foods; ice-cream, kuih-muih, cake, sup, etc for few rounds until I was full.

The proper way to eat buffet is to take little by little... Then only you can eat all types of foods.

I was so full, my stomach like going to burst last night... HAHAHA...
